The Entomological Society of Iran invites submission of theses and dissertations from students in Entomology and related disciplines defending their work between 21 March 2015 and 20 March 2017. These will be judged in terms of presentation and scientific excellence by members of a Board of Referees appointed by the Society.
The Society will hold an awards ceremony at the Second International Congress of Entomology (2–4 September 2017) at which the three best theses and three best dissertations submitted, will be announced. Awards to master`s degree students will be dedicated to the memory of the late Professor Jalal Afshar and are supported intellectually and financially by academic members of the Iranian Research Institute Plant Protection. The awards will be known as the "Prof. Jalal Afshar" awards. Awards to Ph. D. students will, as in the past, be dedicated to the memory of the late Professor Morteza Esmaeili and are supported spiritually and financially by his respected family. They will be known as the "Professor Dr. M. Esmaeili" awards. Participants at the ceremony will include well known members of the Iranian scientific community highly regarded for their entomological expertise.
Those wishing to participate in the contest should send a PDF file of the thesis or dissertation to entomosociran@gmail.com, together with a completed application form (download here) and any supporting material such as publications relating to the work described. Applications must be received by 5 July 2017. Members appointed by the Entomological Society of Iran to the Board of Referees will introduce the winning contestants at the awards ceremony.
Except where permission is declined, theses and dissertations submitted for consideration will be housed permanently in the ESI Library where they will be made available for use by academics and students. Those for which permission is declined will be returned to sender.
برگزاری مسابقه دانشجویی انجمن حشره‌شناسی ایران
انجمن حشره شناسی ایران، هم زمان با برگزاری دومین کنگره بین المللی حشره شناسی ایران (11 تا 13 شهریور 1396)، مراسم اهدای جوایز دانشجویی به سه پایان نامه برتر مقاطع کارشناسی ارشد یا دکترای دانشجویان رشته های مرتبط با حشره شناسی را برگزار خواهد نمود. جوایز سال 1396 برای دانشجویان مقطع کارشناسی ارشد به پاس زنده یاد استاد جلال افشار و با یاری‌های معنوی و مالی اعضاء هیئت علمی موسسه تحقیقات گیاه‌پزشکی کشور با نام "استاد جلال افشار" و برای دانشجویان مقطع دکترا همچون دوره گذشته با نام "استاد دکتر مرتضی اسماعیلی" و با یاری‌های معنوی و مالی خانواده محترم آن استاد فقید مزین گردیده است. نام‌ها و چهره‌های آشنا برای حشره شناسان کشور که ارزش معنوی بسیار بالایی را به مراسم و جوایز بخشیده است. متقاضیان باید از پایان نامه خود از اول فروردین 1394 تا پایان اسفند 1395 دفاع نموده باشند. علاقمندان به شرکت در مسابقه می‌توانند با ارسال فایل PDF از پایان نامه یا رساله خود و تکمیل فرم مربوطه (به وبگاه دومین کنگره بین‌المللی حشره‌شناسی ایران، iice.ut.ac.ir، مراجعه فرمایید) و در صورت لزوم سایر مدارک از قبیل فایل‌های مقالات مستخرج از پایان نامه به نشانی پست الکترونیکی انجمن (entomosociran@gmail.com) حداکثر تا تاریخ 15 تیر 1396، آمادگی خود را برای شرکت در مسابقه اعلام نمایند. پایان نامه‌های دریافتی توسط داوران منتخب هیئت مدیره انجمن حشره شناسی بررسی و به دانشجویانی که پایان نامه‌ها یا رساله‌های ایشان برگزیده خواهد شد جوایز مربوطه تقدیم خواهند شد. پایان نامه‌های ارسالی در صورت اخذ موافقت صاحب اثر در کتابخانه انجمن جهت استفاده متخصصان و دانشجویان نگهداری ودر غیر این صورت عودت داده خواهند شد.
